Specifications & Details for the Super bright LED strip lights 5 meter reel
Super bright LED strip lights 5 meter reel
LED strip Light - Bright, Flexible and Splash Resistant
LED strip lighting, also commonly known as LED tape, is an extremely versatile lighting solution that is both low energy and low maintenance. The self-adhesive tape makes this LED strip light incredibly easy to install, giving you flexible lighting options for almost any situation.
LED tape has become a popular lighting choice for creating an architectural statement in domestic homes, businesses and public buildings. Choose between warm white (3000k) or even RGB (Red Green Blue) which lets you change the colour using a remote control.
You can purchase a single tape or a full kit which includes the power supply unit (PSU), all connectors and any additional accessories you might need. It’s important to have the correct 12VDC constant voltage PSU when working with LED strip lights in order to obtain correct illumination levels and maintain optimal operation throughout the life of the strip. Our LED strip lights require 14.4 watts per metre from a 12 volt supply and, based on this information, our 5m SMD5050 LED strip light requires 72 watts. A suitably rated and protected power supply capable of continuously providing a minimum of 72 watts (6 amps) at 12 volts should be installed.
Each section of our SMD5050 LED strip lighting has three main LED chips providing 20 lumen per chip. Each main LED chip internally has 3 mini diodes (as shown on the image 1 below) operating on separate circuits. In the unlikely failure of one mini diode the LED chip and strip continue to operate normally with no noticeable difference.
Each main LED chip provides 20 lumens, making this product much brighter than the SMD3528 (image 2). However, depending on your LED strip lighting needs, the SMD5050 and SMD3528 both have benefits for different applications.

The SMD5050 LED strip light has 60 LEDs per metre, perfectly spaced to give you enough light in any location. Excess heat is the number one factor when it comes to LEDs failing but our strip lighting operates at lower temperatures, staying cool thanks to the flexible metal self adhesive backing. This extends the life of the LED tape and guarantees a longer lasting performance.
Applications
There’s no end to the useful and decorative applications for our SMD5050 strip lighting, in residential or business settings.
The LED tapes can be used on advertising boards and any type of signage. They look great in bars, restaurants, cafes and theatres. Use them to light the way in corridors or around retail stores and shopping centres. Or maybe just liven up your office, living areas, staircase or home cinema room.

See your home in true colours
To see how higher CRI can change the look of your entire home, move the slider below.
If LED lamps are so great, why is there so much terrible LED lighting? Are dull colours just the price you pay for lower bills?
The answer to these questions is 'Colour Rendering Index'. In most LED lamps it's simply too low. At Well-lit, all our LED lamps have CRI values of 93 or above. So you can replace your halogen and incandescent lamps without losing quality of light. (And change those poor quality LEDs for something rather better.)
