March 2013 - The big day
Well-lit is launched by Chris Stimson and Bujar Shkodra – from Chris’s kitchen table.
We knew we were taking on a lot. But we had no idea how big this thing would get, or how fast.
April 2013 - First public appearance
We were invited to attend Oakwood farmer market in Roundhay park in Leeds.
June 2013 - Award winners already
Well-lit wins Small Business Sunday #SBS recognition from Dragons Den Star Theo Paphitis less than three months in.
Looks like Theo can spot a good start-up when he sees one.
December 2013 - Leaving the kitchen table behind
Chris’s family get to eat breakfast in their kitchen again. Having also outgrown their spare bedroom (a.k.a. the stock room), we take up the offer to use his parents’ large spare bedroom and their double garage.
February 2014 - Extra staff needed
With orders flying in, Chris’s parents are drafted in to help And we take over their other two garages for stock rooms. And make coffee in their kitchen. They look happy don’t they?
October 2014 - The word is out...

We’re running out of space. Again.
January 2016 - A new home
We sign a lease on a brand-new warehouse, just in time to receive 9,000 flexible filament LED lamps.
July 2016 - A world first
well-lit becomes the first company to launch flexible filament LED lamps.
January 2017 - Not so small anymore
7,500 of them get shipped out to customers the very same day.
March 2017 - Getting noticed by the big boys
Official moving-in day at the new well-lit offices and warehouse in Huddersfield. (Don’t worry Mum and Dad, we tidied up and washed our mugs.) We start supplying LED filament lamps to two of the most famous brands in the UK (but are sworn to secrecy).
March 2017 - Yet another first!
well-lit is the first company to use a flexible led filament passed through a polycarbonate tube to create a new and fresh range of LED filament lamps called the 'aray' range!
April 2017 - A Royal connection?
We start supplying LED lamps to one of the most famous addresses in the world, (that secrecy thing again). Our flexible filament LED lights win Bronze in the 2017 European Product Design Awards.
May 2017 - Sunday Times
well-lit lighting features in a double spread in the Home section of the Sunday Times – in a beautiful barn conversion project.
July 2017 - New website launch
We launch our new website (this one) with a fantastic selection of LED filament bulbs, great prices, 365-day returns, and free delivery*.

January 2018 - Those trucks have got BIG, really BIG!
Our biggest single shipment arrived, around 20,000 LED Lamps. What's more pleasing, is that 4 hours later, every single lamp had gone out to customers.

April 2018 - Launch of new Brand
We launched our new LED lighting brand BEEM at Milan Design Week.
October 2018 - The Conran Shop
We are honoured to become the preferred LED Lamp supplier to The Conran Shop in London and Paris.
November 2018 - Dishoom Manchester
Honoured to have provided the LED Lamps to the beautiful new Dishoom restaurant in Manchester.

February 2019 - World First
well-lit are the first company in the world to launch a dim to warm flexible filament LED bulb.
July 2019 - An Upgrade
We upgrade our classic range with new drivers and power supplies and lower the cost.
October 2019 - New Additions to Dim to Warm Range
We extend our range of dim-to-warm bubs to feature a frosted A60 and G95 bulb.
August 2020 - An entirely new LED bulb concept launched
Meet the Azure range, a glass pendant and LED Bulb in one.
October 2020 - Industry Smashing CRI Levels
Our dim-to-warm LED Bulbs reach 97 CRI with R9 valuation at 97!
November 2020 - Dim to Warm Range Extended
We add candles and golf balls to our clear and frosted glass Dim-To-Warm range.
January 2021 - UK Downlights?
We launch a brand new, Made in Britain, fully customisable and high CRI Downlight Range.
March 2022 - Revamped Website Launched
