Specifications & Details for the Woody Wall Light

Woody Wall Light

The Woody Wall Light celebrates the beauty and potential of timber.

Created by artisans in Redruth, Cornwall, Woody is a hand-crafted light that brings out the natural warmth of the ash from which it is milled. When illuminated, its gentle curves, and the material contrast between its glass bulb and solid wood body, creates a bold sculptural effect.

The ash used in Woody is sourced from the UK’s furniture industry. By transforming traditionally undervalued offcuts into sculptural lighting, potential waste is saved from landfill or incineration, and instead transformed into a new contemporary form.

Going one step further in its ecological responsibility, Woody’s traceable timber is all certified as UK grown, providing clear oversight of how the design has been made and the journey its materials have been on.

Woody’s natural warmth can be accentuated through the softness of a 2200k bulb, but its E27 fitting also offers freedom to experiment with different bulb sizes, shapes and brightness, allowing for spontaneity, customisation and flexibility.

Woody doesn’t finish its journey when mounted on your wall either. The light comes with a Lifetime Repair Guarantee and is designed to allow for easy maintenance and repair. Durable, beautiful and built to last, Woody is a light for life.

From its ecological supply chain, to its contemporary shape designed to highlight the material’s gentle grain patterns, Woody shines a spotlight on this striking natural material.

If LED lamps are so great, why is there so much terrible LED lighting? Are dull colours just the price you pay for lower bills?

The answer to these questions is 'Colour Rendering Index'. In most LED lamps it's simply too low. At Well-lit, all our LED lamps have CRI values of 93 or above. So you can replace your halogen and incandescent lamps without losing quality of light. (And change those poor quality LEDs for something rather better.)
